Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Cabo San Lucas is blessed with near perfect weather. Los Cabos, located on the tip of Baja California, Mexico, has year round warm weather, the world's best fishing, world class golf, and beautiful white sand beaches that are perfect for swimming, surfing, sunbathing, or just relaxing.   Local activities include horseback riding, hiking, boating, fishing and sightseeing.  Santa Maria and Chileno, two local snorkeling beaches, have crystal clear blue water and a wide assortment of marine life.  Cabo Pulmo, about 1 hour north on the Sea of Cortez side, boasts the only living reef in this part of the world. The artists town of Todos Santos, home of the original Hotel California, made famous by an Eagles song, is about 45 minutes north on the Pacific side.

Cabo San Lucas has become known as a perfect vacation spot for the entire family.  Cabo can be as quiet, romantic and relaxing as any secret hideaway.  It can also be as lively as anyone can possibly imagine. If your wish is to enjoy a quiet candlelight dinner, "muy romantico", beside the shimmering sea for just the two of you, Cabo has some of the most romantic dining spots on the face of the earth.

The Beaches – Where else in the world can you find a Lovers Beach and a Divorce Beach?

  • Medano Beach - Medano Beach is the main safe swimming beach in Cabo San Lucas and the most popular. It begins at the east side of the harbor and extends along Cabo San Lucas Bay all the way to Villa del Palmar.
  • Lovers Beach - also known as Playa Doña Chepa in earlier years, is located on the Sea of Cortez side of Land's End at Cabo San Lucas.
  • Divorce Beach - This stretch of clean white sand is located on the Pacific side a short walk from Playa del AMor. Divorce Beach is great for sunbathing and relaxing, but it is very dangerous to swim on this beach.

  • Playa Costa Azul (Blue Coast Beach) - In this half mile stretch before Palmilla Bay is the world famous surf break called Costa Azul.
  • Playa Acapulquito - Just west of Playa Costa Azul is a little stretch of beach known as Old Man's Beach.

  • Playa Las Viudas (Widow's Beach) Twin Dolphin Beach - This picturesque beach is a quiet spot to relax and have a picnic.

Travel Tips

BY AIR:
Fly into San Jose del Cabo Airport. You might even see John Travolta's airplane parked by the terminal.

BY RV:
Driving an RV is preferred by many travellers for the freedom it gives and there are many RV parks.

BY CAR:
Driving the 1000 miles from San Diego is preferred by many who love a relaxed pace, stopping 2 or 3 nights in towns along the way. Don't drive at night because cows stand on the road.

BY FERRY:
Ride the ferry from mainland Mexico crossing the Sea of Cortez to the town of La Paz. You will then need to rent a car to Los Cabos or take the bus.

BY CRUISE SHIP:
Take a cruise ship to Cabos San Lucas from Los Angeles or San Diego.

BY BOAT:
Of course if you own a boat, you probably would use it to go to Los Cabos because the fishing is so wonderful.

RENTAL CAR OR TAXI:
Taxis, rental cars and shuttle buses are available at the airport.

WATER TAXI:
These boats will take you around Cabos San Lucas beach and bay sites or out to Lover's Beach where you will find Land's End and El Arco. You can pick up a ride back from another water taxi when you want to return. You will disembark from the boat into the surf so prepare to get wet, keep clothes, towels, etc. wrapped in a waterproof bag.
